The Government of India set out preparedness measures to ensure continuity of energy, maritime and consular services amid developments in West Asia. Ministries are coordinating with State authorities and industry to maintain supplies and to counter misinformation. Citizens have been asked to avoid panic purchases, to conserve energy and to prefer alternate fuels such as piped natural gas, induction and electric cooktops where feasible.

On liquefied petroleum gas, online bookings rose to 95 per cent yesterday and delivery authentication code based deliveries increased from 53 per cent in February to 90 per cent yesterday to prevent diversion. More than 5.1 million (mn) domestic LPG cylinders were delivered yesterday and over 90,000 five kilogram (kg) free to litre cylinders were sold yesterday, with about 0.66 mn sold since 23 March 2026.

City gas distribution expansion has gathered pace, with about 0.36 mn PNG connections gasified since March and more than 0.39 mn registrations for new connections. The government has asked CGD entities to prioritise PNG for domestic and commercial users and extended the National PNG Drive until 30 June 2026 to sustain momentum. Supply to domestic PNG and compressed natural gas transport has been prioritised and urea plants will receive around 90 per cent of their six month average consumption from 6 April 2026.

Maritime authorities reported that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe and that no incident involving Indian flagged vessels was reported in the past 24 hours, while port operations across the country remain normal. Passenger repatriation has brought over 702,000 people back since 28 February 2026. Enforcement teams have seized more than 50,000 cylinders since March, PSU oil marketing companies have issued over 1,400 show cause notices and 36 distributorships have been suspended. Refineries are operating at high capacity and the government has cut excise duties by Rs 10 per litre while imposing export levies of Rs 21.5 per litre on diesel and Rs 29.5 per litre on aviation turbine fuel.
