HAL Awards Rs 680.5 Million Defence Order to DCX Systems

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has awarded a contract to DCX Systems for the manufacture and supply of custom airborne antenna and power supply units, according to a corporate filing. The order is valued at Rs 680.5 million (Rs 680.5 mn) including goods and services tax and was received in the normal course of business. The equipment will be destined for airborne defence platforms and is intended to support communication, radar and electronic warfare functions. The company noted that the systems also provide power distribution for avionics equipment.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is India’s premier aerospace and defence company responsible for development, manufacture and maintenance of military aircraft, helicopters, avionics and defence systems. The award highlights HAL’s engagement with domestic private sector suppliers and aligns with government policy to promote indigenisation through the Make in India initiative. DCX Systems has been described in the filing as an AS 9100D certified manufacturer specialising in electronic subsystems, cable harness assemblies and electromechanical integration. The firm operates a manufacturing facility within the Aerospace special economic zone in Bengaluru Rural.

The airborne antenna and power units are intended to enhance mission performance by improving signal transmission and enabling electronic integration across platforms. Their functions will include support for communication networks, radar operations and electronic warfare tasks while ensuring reliable power supply to critical avionics. Custom design of these subsystems is presented as necessary to meet specific platform integration requirements and environmental tolerances. The supplier is expected to deliver components that conform to defence quality standards and integrate with existing avionics architectures.

The disclosure was submitted to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India in line with mandatory corporate compliance requirements. Market observers said such orders indicate sustained domestic procurement and greater private sector participation in defence supply chains. Continued collaborations between specialised electronics manufacturers and HAL are expected to contribute to the strengthening of India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities. The contract underlines the role of supply chain depth in supporting operational readiness of airborne platforms.
