Havells Enters Battery Energy Storage Market With Pixii
The companies will follow a phased roadmap that begins with pilot installations to validate commercial opportunities and co-develop an all-in-one energy storage product. Subsequent phases envisage local manufacturing of products in India and tailoring of solutions to domestic customer requirements. The roadmap targets small-scale, commercial and industrial segments and aims to build a long-term battery energy storage ecosystem. Work will focus on modularity and efficiency to meet varied site and load profiles.
Havells reported that quarterly earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation declined by four point five per cent year-on-year to Rs 7.27 billion (bn). The EBITDA margin stood at 10.8 per cent, down by 90 basis points from 11.7 per cent a year earlier, while the margin remained above analyst expectations. The company's cable business revenue rose by 14 per cent year-on-year and earnings before tax grew by 36 per cent, with an EBIT margin increasing to 14.2 per cent from 11.9 per cent. Shares of Havells India Limited ended at Rs 1,191.50, down by Rs 16.95 or one point four per cent on the BSE.
Havells' renewables head said that the collaboration would bring global innovation to India and combine local market expertise with advanced technology. Pixii's chief executive indicated that India represented an important growth market for energy storage and that the partnership would leverage a trusted local partner to scale solutions. The companies said they would pursue validation, co-development and localisation while leveraging existing sales and service networks. The strategic move positions both firms to address growing demand for flexible and reliable energy storage in India.
