Hindustan Power has signed a power supply agreement (PSA) with MP Power Management Company Limited (MP Power Management) for the supply of 800 MW from an upcoming thermal unit in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh. The agreement was executed through the company's subsidiary, Anuppur Powerprojects Private Limited, and is scheduled to commence supply in 2031. The PSA has a tenure of 25 years with an option to extend by five years. The project was awarded under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model and will form part of the state's baseload capacity.

The company indicated that the project will strengthen contributions towards meeting Madhya Pradesh's rising energy requirements and support regional economic activity and employment generation. The firm framed the development as a significant step in its expansion strategy and reaffirmation of long term focus on the power sector. The company further noted that delivery will employ advanced ultra-supercritical technology to improve efficiency and environmental performance. The supply commitment is intended to bolster the state's long-term energy security objectives.

Hindustan Power entered India's transitional energy sector in 2008 and developed a large energy generation project in Anuppur that was commissioned in phases during 2015 and 2016, establishing its operational footprint in the region. The current agreement extends that footprint and creates a long tenure of contracted dispatch to meet baseload demand. The contract structure and DBFOO model are expected to support project financing and operation while aligning with public sector procurement norms. The parties structured the arrangement to provide predictable capacity amid evolving regional demand patterns.

The supply pact is configured to provide continuous baseload power to support industrial and residential consumers and to underpin infrastructure growth across the state. Project timelines and commercial terms were set out in the PSA and the parties anticipate orderly implementation as the project advances towards commissioning. The agreement reinforces the role of long term contracted capacity in the broader power market while offering the company a durable revenue stream. Stakeholders will monitor progress as construction and regulatory clearances proceed.
