HPCL, SECI signs MoU for collaboration in RE, electric mobility

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration and cooperation in the renewable energy field, electric mobility, and alternative fuels, including the development of Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) projects.

On February 24, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between HPCL and SECI to recognise green energy goals and the efforts of the Government of India (GOI) towards a carbon-neutral economy.

The MOU foresees cooperation and collaboration in the areas of renewable energy, electric mobility, and alternative fuels, as well as the creation of ESG projects.

SECI is engaged in the development and promotion of several renewable energy resources, particularly RE-based Storage Systems, Waste to Energy, trading off the power, R&D Projects, Solar/Wind energy, along with the RE base products like Green Hydrogen, green Ammonia, RE powered electric vehicles (EV), etc.

HPCL is a subsidiary of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), which is under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India.

SECI is under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), GOI, founded to facilitate the execution of the National Solar Mission.
