IBA, Indian Oil Sign MoU to Boost Bio-Energy and Hydrogen Sectors

The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) to strengthen the bioenergy and bio-hydrogen sectors in India. The strategic alliance aims to establish a joint knowledge centre, facilitate the exchange of technological and infrastructural resources, and conduct training programs to boost the biofuels industry.

As part of the collaboration, both organisations intend to engage with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and academic institutions to build a robust ecosystem for bioenergy. The MoU underlines the significance of training and capacity-building initiatives to support workforce development in the sector. Furthermore, IBA and IOCL will jointly recommend policy incentives and work in tandem with central and state governments to ensure effective implementation.

IBA, which was founded in 2011 as India’s first professional biogas association and restructured in 2015, has also partnered with the German Biogas Association. This partnership aims to promote a greener and more sustainable energy future for India by encouraging the broader adoption of biogas and biofuels.
