INA Solar, Caelux Partner for 3 GW, Target 29 Per Cent by 2028
The companies plan to develop Hybrid-Tandem solar modules that combine TOPCon solar cells with a perovskite-based, power-generating glass layer. Commercial production is targeted to achieve module efficiencies of up to 29 per cent by 2028, while the technology is intended to increase power density, improve energy generation and reduce the levelised cost of electricity.
The partnership will cover technology validation, manufacturing readiness and applicable regulatory approvals. It will also include compliance with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers requirements. Insolation Energy said the arrangement would support its focus on advanced solar technology and the development of an integrated manufacturing ecosystem in India.
Insolation Energy currently operates three solar module manufacturing facilities in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with combined annual capacity of 5.5 GW. It is developing a 4.5 GW TOPCon solar cell facility and an 18,000 t-per-year aluminium frame manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.
The company’s portfolio includes TOPCon and Mono PERC modules ranging from 500 Wp to 635 Wp, as well as engineering, procurement and construction services. It also has an independent power producer portfolio of approximately 400 MW. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Jaipur, the company is listed on the NSE and BSE.
Caelux, headquartered in Baldwin Park, California, specialises in perovskite solar technology. Its Energy Producing Glass converts the top glass layer of a solar module into an additional power-generating layer. Caelux said its global contracted volume with module manufacturers now exceeds 25 GW, following the partnership.
