India and Denmark have renewed their energy sector cooperation by signing a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reaffirming a shared vision for clean energy development. The agreement was signed by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, and Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, in the presence of Minister Manohar Lal.

Originally signed on five June 2020 and set to expire in 2025, the MoU has now been extended to maintain momentum in bilateral energy dialogue. It aligns with India’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070 and promotes collaboration in clean and sustainable technologies.

The partnership now covers advanced domains such as power system modelling, integration of variable renewable energy, development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and cross-border electricity trading. It further aims to enhance knowledge sharing through expert interactions, study tours, and joint training programmes.

The continued collaboration underscores both nations’ commitment to sustainable energy development and accelerating the transition towards greener solutions.
