India Energy Week Moves To Kolkata For 2027
Organisers described the edition as the landmark fifth edition and indicated that preparations were under way to scale the event up in the new location. The LinkedIn communication framed the convention centre's transformation as part of efforts to unite industry leaders, policymakers, investors and technology pioneers shaping the global energy landscape. The oil minister reviewed preparations with officials and noted that the gathering had become the world's largest energy assembly and would attract global chief executives, policymakers and investors in 2027.
The Biswa Bangla Convention Centre comprises an 18-storey building with a 3,200-seat auditorium and extensive convention infrastructure, including an exhibition hall, multiple seminar rooms, banquet spaces and multi-level car parking. The complex also includes an adjoining 100-key hotel block to support delegates and visiting guests. The facility was inaugurated in 2017 and has been presented as capable of hosting major international summits, business meets and cultural events.
The Goa venue had been built rapidly after approvals by the state-owned energy company and hosted the IEW edition in 2026, but it has seen limited activity since. The on-campus oval-shaped convention centre offers roughly 4,000 seats and a wide array of support rooms and lounges, while the management development facility covers about 8,353 sq metres and contains a 182-seat auditorium, syndicate rooms and classrooms. The exhibition hall measures about 6,669 sq m and the campus also features a floating jetty and a helipad that provide connectivity by sea, air and road to nearby hotels and resorts.
