ISA's 6th assembly: Focus on security, transition, energy access
It was stated in an ISA release that ministers, missions, and delegates from 116 member and signatory countries, as well as potential countries, partner organizations, the private sector, and other stakeholders, will be attending the assembly. The discussions at the 6th ISA Assembly will revolve around initiatives impacting energy access, security, and transitions. Special emphasis will be given to the universalisation of energy access through solar mini-grids, mobilizing funds for rapid solar deployment, and diversifying supply chains and manufacturing for solar technology.
In collaboration with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, the Asian Development Bank, and the International Solar Energy Society, the ISA Secretariat has organised a high-level conference on new technologies for clean energy transition on November 1, 2023. The conference will address various issues related to climate change and the deployment of solar energy.
Furthermore, the ISA plans to release three flagship reports. One of these reports, the World Solar Technology Report 2023, focuses on solar photovoltaics (solar PV) and highlights the significant advancements made in crystalline silicon technology. Solar PV has experienced exceptional growth and is anticipated to capture 56.4% of the total renewable energy share by 2050.
