Jain Irrigation Wins Rs 1.35 Billion Solar Pump Order

Mumbai-based Jain Irrigation Systems has received a work order from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP.
The order, valued at Rs 1.35 billion plus GST, falls under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM-KUSUM B scheme, which promotes clean energy adoption in agriculture. As part of the project, Jain Irrigation will deliver and install 5,438 solar pumps across multiple districts in Maharashtra.
This latest allocation follows Phase I of the scheme, launched in December 2024, under which the company installed 4,180 solar pumps worth Rs 1.03 billion plus GST. Jain Irrigation noted that it has successfully executed similar projects in several states under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s PM-KUSUM initiative.
