JAKEDA invites bids for 35 hydropower projects

The Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) has invited bids for 35 small hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 60.05 MW across 15 districts. Backed by the Department of Science and Technology, the projects will be developed under the Swiss Challenge and IPP modes on a 40-year BOOT basis. Bidding is being conducted via JKPDC’s online portal. The initiative aims to promote clean energy, create jobs, and improve infrastructure, in line with India’s 2030 renewable energy goals. J&K has an estimated small hydro potential of over 2,000 MW.
