Jupiter International Wins Rs 649.5 Million Solar Pump Order

Kolkata-based Jupiter International Ltd has secured a letter of empanelment worth Rs 649.5 million from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for the manufacture, supply, installation, testing and maintenance of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems.

The order has been awarded under the state-run Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, a flagship Maharashtra government programme aimed at providing subsidised off-grid solar water pumps to farmers, particularly small and marginal cultivators.

Commenting on the development, Akash Garodia, Promoter and Whole-Time Director of Jupiter International, said the empanelment by MSEDCL marks an important milestone in the company’s efforts to deliver sustainable solutions at the grassroots level. He said the initiative will help replace diesel-based irrigation with clean energy, improve water access for farmers and support India’s broader goals of agricultural decarbonisation and income enhancement.

As part of the programme, Jupiter International will also roll out a farmer awareness campaign using WhatsApp, SMS outreach and regional engagement networks. The initiative will focus on educating beneficiaries about the scheme’s benefits, application procedures and installation timelines.

Jupiter International is engaged in the manufacture of photovoltaic solar cells and provides end-to-end solar power solutions, leveraging advanced technology and domestic manufacturing capabilities to support India’s renewable energy transition.
