J&V Energy to Acquire 187 MW Solar Portfolio in Taiwan
The portfolio comprises 42 operational solar plants across central and southern Taiwan with a combined nameplate capacity of 187 MW. The assets are expected to generate approximately 270 mn kilowatt hours (kWh) per year, sufficient to power around 80,000 Taiwanese households, and have a remaining operating life in excess of 15 years.
J&V Energy said the acquisition complements its integrated renewables platform in Taiwan and represents a meaningful step in scaling the group's position as a leading independent power producer. The additional generation capacity will expand the supply pipeline of GREENET, J&V Energy's green electricity retail subsidiary, and support corporate clients seeking long-term green electricity arrangements.
The company indicated that its investment strategy focuses on building a high-quality, income-producing renewables portfolio anchored by long-dated, fully contracted cashflows and that the 187 MW portfolio provides stable, predictable revenue at scale. J&V Energy noted opportunities to add further value through its integrated operating, asset management and offtake capabilities and said the deal deepens an ongoing relationship with BlackRock following prior partnerships in Taiwan since 2018.
Completion of the transaction will see the assets integrated into J&V Energy's existing operating, asset management and electricity retail platforms in Taiwan, reinforcing the group's position among the largest privately owned renewable energy platforms in the country. Headquartered in Taipei and listed on the TWSE Main Board, J&V Energy employs over 550 renewable energy professionals, marked its 10th anniversary in 2026 and maintains a regional footprint across Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
