Jyoti Structures Limited has signed a joint venture contract with Hayleys Fentons Limited for the construction of the Mannar-Mullikulam 220 kilovolt (kV) double circuit transmission line in Sri Lanka. The contract was awarded by the National Transmission Network Service Provider (Private) Limited under the Mullikulam Wind Power Transmission Project and marks a notable addition to Jyoti Structures Limited's international transmission portfolio. The project is described by the partners as central to enabling reliable, future-ready power infrastructure across the region.

The mandate covers development of critical transmission infrastructure required to evacuate power generated by the Mullikulam wind power projects to Sri Lanka's national grid. Hayleys Fentons is advancing a 50 megawatt (MW) wind project in Mannar in parallel, and the joint venture is expected to integrate transmission works with the broader renewable deployment. Jyoti Structures' chief operating officer said the company was proud to partner on the cross border project and that it would deliver a resilient transmission network to support Sri Lanka's renewable energy ambitions.

The managing director of Hayleys Fentons said the signing signalled confidence in Sri Lanka's energy future and that the Mannar-Mullikulam transmission line would channel wind energy potential from the north into the national grid. The executive director of Hayleys Solar indicated that the project would enable the company to expand into infrastructure, create growth potential and provide valuable exposure for engineering teams to build specialised expertise in power transmission and distribution projects. Partners noted the arrangement would position them to undertake similar large scale infrastructure projects in the future.

Jyoti Structures Limited is a listed global engineering, procurement and construction company with over five decades of experience in power transmission infrastructure since its incorporation in 1974.
