Karnataka, GAIL to Develop 1 GW Renewable Energy

GAIL (India) and the Government of Karnataka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop up to 1 GW of renewable energy capacity over the next five years. The Rs 50 billion initiative encompasses ground-mounted, rooftop, and floating solar systems, wind energy, and battery storage solutions. Karnataka will facilitate land acquisition and provide necessary approvals and incentives. This collaboration aligns with GAIL's goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2035 and aims to bolster Karnataka's position as a green energy hub, contributing to employment generation and infrastructure development.
