KP Group To Invest Rs 80 Billion In Gujarat Green Fuel Network

A city-based renewable energy conglomerate, KP Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat, to establish a statewide network of hydrogen and electric vehicle (EV) fuel stations.

The MoU, signed on 9 October 2025 during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (North Region) at Ganpat University, Mehsana, represents a major step towards strengthening Gujarat’s clean energy and e-mobility ecosystem, the company said in a statement.

Under the agreement, KP Group will invest Rs 80 billion to develop hydrogen and EV refuelling infrastructure across the state. The project is expected to generate around 1,000 employment opportunities and play a pivotal role in Gujarat’s transition towards low-carbon and sustainable mobility.

The Government of Gujarat will facilitate the company in securing necessary permissions, approvals, and clearances from various departments in accordance with state policies and regulations, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.

“Gujarat has consistently led India’s clean energy transition, and this MoU marks another milestone in that journey,” said Dr Faruk G. Patel, Founding Promoter of KP Group. “Through this collaboration, we aim to build a robust, future-ready refuelling ecosystem for hydrogen and electric vehicles. This initiative will empower industries, public transport, and private users to confidently adopt cleaner fuels while reinforcing Gujarat’s leadership in sustainable infrastructure development.”

The project aligns with Gujarat’s broader vision of promoting green mobility, renewable energy adoption, and carbon reduction, further positioning the state as a national frontrunner in sustainable energy innovation.
