Lakshadweep Invites Bids for 2 MW Rooftop Solar with Battery Storage

The Lakshadweep Electricity Department has invited bids for the installation of 2,107 kW of rooftop solar systems, each paired with a 3 kWh battery energy storage system, on government buildings.
Bids must be submitted by April 10, 2025, with the opening scheduled for the following day. An earnest money deposit of Rs 4.62 million is required, and the successful bidder must provide a security deposit equal to 5% of the contract value before signing the agreement.
The project scope includes a five-year warranty for the solar systems and comprehensive operation and maintenance for an additional five years, extendable up to 25 years.
Eligible bidders must have commissioned at least 2 MW of grid-connected solar projects in the past five financial years, including one project of at least 300 kW that has been operational for at least six months.
Companies with experience as developers or EPC contractors in sectors like power, steel, oil and gas, or cement, with a minimum project value of Rs 100 million executed within the last ten years, are also eligible. Such projects must have been operational for at least one year before the bid opening date.
Bidders must have an average annual turnover of at least Rs 108.5 million over the last three financial years and should not have incurred losses in more than two of the last five years. They must also provide a commercial bank certificate for Rs 145 million or a net worth certificate of at least Rs 362 million from a certified chartered accountant.
Only solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) will be accepted for the project.
In June 2024, the Solar Energy Corporation of India invited bids for a similar project in Lakshadweep, commissioning 1,385 kW of grid-connected solar power with 394 kW/1117 kWh of battery storage systems.
