Land Acquisition Completed For 228 Solar Plants In Andhra Pradesh
The Special Chief Secretary reviewed project progress through a video conference with chief managing directors of the distribution companies and other officials and instructed DISCOMs and developers to expedite execution and to meet project timelines. He noted that land acquisition has been completed for all 228 plants and directed officials to monitor civil works, equipment procurement, financial closure and statutory documentation on a project-wise basis. He called for close coordination among DISCOMs, developers, the state nodal agency NREDCAP, financial institutions and implementing agencies to avoid delays.
Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) is implementing 49 plants with 191.5 MW and has completed land acquisition for every project. Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) is implementing 33 plants totalling 220.3 MW, with land acquired for all and purchase orders issued for 29 projects. Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) and Kuppam Renewable Energy Cooperative Society (KRECS) together account for 146 plants totalling 751 MW, with land acquisition and purchase orders completed.
Civil works are advancing across sites and developers are progressing with equipment mobilisation and contractual clearances. About 19.9 MW is expected to be ready for charging in September while, overall, 109.7 MW is planned for commissioning, with 27 MW scheduled for September and 82.7 MW for October. Officials were instructed to prioritise timely financial closure and statutory compliance to achieve the commissioning schedule and to secure reliable supply to the agricultural sector.
