Loom Solar gets 8.25-acre land in Meerut
Loom Solar, one of India’s fast-growing integrated solar and energy storage manufacturers, has secured an additional land allotment from the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The company has been allotted a 33,400 sq m plot, around 8.25 acres, at Industrial Model Land Corporation (IMLC), Meerut. The allotment was formalised at Lok Bhawan, Lucknow, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Industrial Minister Shri Nand Gopal ‘Nandi’ Gupta.
The new land parcel is separate from Loom Solar’s existing 7.5-acre facility in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh, where a 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing unit is under development. Together, the two facilities significantly expand the company’s manufacturing footprint in the state and position Uttar Pradesh as an important hub in India’s domestic solar supply chain.
The Meerut facility will be dedicated to solar module manufacturing and is expected to house a high-throughput production line, complementing the ongoing capacity build-out at Kosi. Operating as independent units, both facilities will support Loom Solar’s multi-GW manufacturing roadmap and help address India’s rising solar demand, in line with the national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
Amod Anand, Co-Founder and Director of Loom Solar, said the additional allotment strengthens the company’s manufacturing backbone across solar modules and battery energy storage system solutions. He added that alongside the Kosi plant, the new facility will help meet India’s growing clean energy demand through indigenous capacity.
The expansion aligns with national initiatives such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Production-Linked Incentive scheme, ALMM regulations and Domestic Content Requirements. Beyond modules, Loom Solar is also scaling its BESS portfolio for utility-scale and distributed applications. The dual-plant strategy is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs across engineering, manufacturing, logistics and ancillary sectors while reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s appeal for industrial investment.
