The Digital Energy Solutions division of L&T Construction's Power Transmission & Distribution business has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with IIT Indore to foster collaboration in renewable energy integration and control technologies research. This partnership aims to establish an industry-academia connection and foster research and development initiatives. L&T's Smart Grid Solution Centre of Excellence will also work with students' Learning & Experience Program at IIT Indore as part of this engagement.

The agreement was signed by Prof. I.A. Palani, Dean R&D at IIT Indore, and Dr Jayant Kumar, Head of Digital Energy Solutions at L&T PT&D, in the presence of T. Madhava Das, Whole-Time Director and Sr Executive Vice President (Utilities) of Larsen & Toubro Limited, and Prof. Suhas Joshi, Director of IIT Indore. The signing event was attended by other key representatives from both organizations.

Prof. Joshi expressed that IIT Indore would provide crucial research capabilities and opportunities through various projects, dissertation work, and incubation projects. Additionally, he highlighted L&T PT&D's commitment to extending access to its advanced Digital Energy Solutions Labs in Chennai and Dallas, USA, to IIT Indore students for collaborative research activities.

T. Madhava Das emphasised L&T's intention to promote innovation, entrepreneurial learning, and the incubation of digital energy technologies through this partnership. The collaboration will focus on areas of mutual interest, such as Renewable Energy Management and Control Software, Cloud, Edge and Internet of Things (IoT) Technologies, AI/ML, Embedded Systems, VLSI Circuit and System Design, and Power Electronics.
