Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a USD 30 billion (bn) Indian multinational engaged in engineering, procurement and construction projects, high-tech manufacturing and services, has won multiple orders for power transmission infrastructure in India and abroad. The company said its customer-focused approach and sustained focus on quality have underpinned leadership across major lines of business for eight decades. The awards relate to transmission network projects and reflect demand for grid expansion and reinforcement.

The orders span classifications from significant to ultra-mega under the firm’s value bands. These bands correspond to ranges starting at 1,000 crore and extending beyond 15,000 crore, equivalent to 10 bn to 150 bn, with significant at 10 bn to 25 bn, large at 25 bn to 50 bn, major at 50 bn to 100 bn, mega at 100 bn to 150 bn and ultra-mega above 150 bn. The firm provided no financial aggregation but classified several awards as major or above today.

L&T will deploy its transmission and distribution teams to execute the projects, leveraging its engineering capabilities and manufacturing support. The contracts cover a mix of substation, line and balance-of-plant work and are expected to enhance the company’s footprint in key markets while supporting grid modernisation. The company did not disclose aggregate financials for the awards but described them as major in classification. Execution will involve coordination with local stakeholders and adherence to statutory and environmental norms.

Work on the projects will be carried out by established business units and managed through existing governance and quality systems to meet timelines.
