Maxvolt Receives Land to Set Up Battery Recycling Plant in Aligarh

Maxvolt Energy, a leading innovator in battery technology and green energy solutions, has received a land acquisition letter from Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to establish a state-of-the-art lithium battery recycling and repurposing facility in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.

The announcement was made during the “Uttar Pradesh – Udhyam Pradesh” event held at Lok Bhawan Sabha Sagar, Lucknow, on the occasion of International MSME Day, underlining the state’s continued support for innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial growth.

The project spans 23,524 sq m and will be located near Maxvolt’s existing plant in Ghaziabad, enabling streamlined supply chain operations and efficient inter-facility coordination.

Circular economy focus

The new facility aligns with Maxvolt’s vision to reduce India’s reliance on imported lithium and foster a closed-loop battery lifecycle—a key step towards energy self-reliance and environmental sustainability.

Satendra Shukla, CEO, Maxvolt Energy, said:

“We are deeply honoured to receive the land acquisition letter from Hon’ble CM Yogi ji. The support from the Uttar Pradesh Government reinforces our commitment to building a circular battery economy in tandem with India’s clean energy transition. This facility will not only address critical environmental challenges but also generate employment and drive innovation in the state.”

Vishal Gupta, Co-founder and CTO, added:

“This project is a milestone for Maxvolt and for India’s green energy aspirations. With the encouragement of the state government, we are taking a major step towards developing lithium battery solutions that are made, maintained and renewed in India. Our aim is to build an ecosystem that benefits both the environment and the economy.”

Boost to sustainable industrial development

The collaboration between Maxvolt Energy and the Government of Uttar Pradesh marks a significant step in advancing the state’s green industrial development goals. The facility is expected to foster clean-tech innovation, create jobs, and contribute to India’s evolving green economy.
