The estimated cost of the maintenance contract is Rs 6.699 million, based on prevailing market rates. The work will be executed under an item rate contract, based on actual measurements, in accordance with IAFW 1779-A and the General Conditions of Contracts IAFW-2249. Contractors are required to quote rates for all items listed in Schedule ‘A’, with the maintenance activity to be completed within 273 days.
Eligibility criteria specify that MES-enlisted contractors in Class ‘C’ and above under category ‘b (i)’ are eligible to participate, provided there are no adverse remarks in their Work Load Return. Unenlisted contractors may also apply if they meet the enlistment requirements for Class ‘C’ and category ‘b (i)’, including prescribed thresholds for annual turnover, solvency, working capital and fixed assets. Firms that are debarred, suspended or blacklisted by any government department or public sector undertaking are not eligible.
The tender document can be purchased at a cost of Rs 1,000, payable through demand draft or banker’s cheque in favour of GE Kapurthala. Unenlisted contractors are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 0.1255 million in the form of a call deposit receipt, as bank guarantees will not be accepted. While the performance bank guarantee has not been explicitly specified, MES norms typically require a guarantee of 5 per cent of the contract value from the successful bidder before commencement of work.
