Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed ongoing schemes under the New and Renewable Energy Department and directed officials to ensure uninterrupted and affordable electricity for farmers. He emphasised that providing affordable power to farmers is a priority for the state government and that such access would enable farmers to increase production and contribute more effectively to the state's development. The review covered existing programmes and implementation challenges across districts.

Yadav highlighted the need to encourage farmers to become energy producers themselves to meet their own energy requirements and called for stronger links between rural producers and green energy markets. He urged officials to expand outreach and technical guidance so that farmers can adopt solar technologies with confidence and reduce dependence on conventional grid supply. The Chief Minister endorsed acceleration of the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Yojana to support household and agricultural solarisation.

The Chief Minister directed that farmers should be encouraged to adopt solar pumps with full administrative support and technical guidance provided to willing cultivators. He asked the New and Renewable Energy Department to step up coordination with district administrations and financial agencies to expedite procurement and installation processes. A target was set to connect 0.2 million (mn) farmers with solar pumps by the end of the current financial year and departments were asked to review and enhance annual targets to maximise benefits within a shorter timeframe.

He also highlighted potential revenue generation for urban local bodies through improved waste management and directed a one day orientation programme in Bhopal for elected representatives and officials to support scheme implementation. Reviewing the proposed 2,000 megawatt (MW) Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park in Morena, being developed in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister sought prioritisation of the state's energy interests. Officials confirmed that coordination is underway with Uttar Pradesh authorities on green energy supply arrangements and that progress reviews will continue.
