MSEDCL seeks bids to purchase 300 MW of wind power

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has issued an invitation for bids for the long-term purchase of 300 MW of wind energy from intrastate wind-generating projects.

The deadline for submitting online bids is January 6, 2023.

For the tender, MSEDCL has established a ceiling rate of Rs 2.65/kWh.

As an earnest money deposit, bidders will need to provide Rs 118,000/MW for each project.

The winning bidder and MSEDCL will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) that will last 12 years starting on the PPA execution date.

At a single location, each wind energy project should be at least 0.5 MW in size. The bid capacity is 0.5 MW at the least.

Participants in the bidding process must be intrastate projects that are currently providing electricity to MSEDCL or another distribution company (DISCOM) under long-term energy purchase agreements (EPAs) that have already expired or are scheduled to do so on or before March 31, 2024.

The tender is open to wind power projects that are currently wheeling or selling electricity under open access or temporary PPAs.
