National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperating in the power sector abroad.

It is a significant development for the Indian Power Sector.

The MoU comprises capacity building, project development, O&M, RMU and additional consultancy responsibilities outside India together with NHPC & NTPC.

Sh Y.K. Chaubey, NHPC Director (Technical) and Sh Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya, Director NTPC (Projects), signed the MoU in New Delhi on 10 September 2021.

According to the MoU, the broad fields of cooperation among NHPC and NTPC would include building collaboration for conducting feasibility research for new Hydro based power plants and associated infrastructure/amenities in countries of similar interest, developing hydropower projects.

Abroad subject to exchange of information, techno-commercial feasibility in the similar interest of areas and collaboration in another mutually beneficial abroad business chance.
