NHPC has invited bids for setting up 1,200 MW of ground-mounted solar power projects at the Jalaun Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh under a request for selection (RfS) process.
Bids must be submitted by 5 September 2025, and will be opened on 10 September. Bidders are required to furnish an earnest money deposit of Rs 100 million.
The minimum bid capacity has been set at 300 MW, while the maximum is 600 MW. For a 300 MW bid, the tender fee is Rs 2 million plus 18 per cent GST. For 600 MW, the fee is Rs 3 million plus 18 per cent GST.
Selected developers will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC. The scope of work includes project development up to the interconnection point at the incoming side of the pooling substation, along with operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
Bidders must secure all required clearances and permits and may use any commercially established solar technology that meets the minimum generation standards. Projects must achieve a minimum capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 26 per cent. Developers are also permitted to execute the project through a special purpose vehicle (SPV).
The scheduled date for commencement of power supply is 18 months from the PPA execution date.
Eligible bidders must be a single company or a consortium with a designated lead member. The financial eligibility criteria include:
- A minimum net worth of Rs 7.94 million per MW of quoted capacity,
- An annual turnover of Rs 11.92 million per MW in the last financial year, and
- A minimum working capital of Rs 4.41 million per MW.
Earlier in June, NHPC had issued tenders for 19.2 MW of rooftop solar capacity on government buildings in Haryana and 5.6 MW in Sikkim.
