NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) has commissioned an additional 106 megawatt (MW) solar power capacity at its 300 MW Barsingsar Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. With this, the total commissioned capacity has reached 158.83 MW, following the earlier commissioning of 52.83 MW.

The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL) issued the commissioning certificate confirming the milestone achievement, the Navratna company said.

Implemented under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the project is located on NLCIL’s own land in Barsingsar, Bikaner district. It uses indigenously manufactured, high-efficiency bifacial solar PV modules, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and promoting domestic manufacturing.

The entire power generated will be supplied to the State of Rajasthan, enhancing the state’s renewable energy portfolio and supporting India’s clean energy goals. NLCIL plans to commission the remaining capacity by December 2025, achieving the full 300 MW within schedule.

With this addition, NLCIL’s total installed renewable energy capacity has risen to 1,588.83 MW. During FY25, the company generated over 2 billion units of green power, and the new capacity is expected to further boost clean energy generation, reinforcing NLCIL’s contribution to India’s sustainable energy future.
