Noida Power Company (NPCL) has invited bids to procure 300 MW of round-the-clock renewable power from interstate transmission system-connected projects. The tender requires developers to establish and operate the project under a Build-Own-Operate model, with bids due by October 1, 2026, and hard copies of documents required by October 5, 2026.

The selected developer must demonstrate experience in setting up energy storage capacity or have an arrangement with an Energy Storage System developer. The storage solution is intended to support the firmness and dispatchability requirements of the project, enabling NPCL to receive power continuously during specified periods.

NPCL can identify any 6 hours as peak hours on a day-ahead basis. The selected period must include a continuous supply of at least 1 hour between midnight and 10:00 hours and between 18:00 hours and midnight. The remaining hours of each day will be treated as off-peak hours for scheduling and supply purposes.

The tender covers the procurement of renewable power by distribution companies from grid-connected projects under the government’s tariff-based competitive bidding framework. Developers with commissioned renewable or storage projects may receive a longer power purchase agreement period, reflecting the gap between the actual start of supply and the scheduled commencement of supply date.

The developer must ensure that 100 per cent of the annual energy supplied is sourced from renewable power. Up to 5 per cent of the annual energy requirement may be procured from green market sources or bilateral agreements to meet supply obligations. Projects may be located anywhere in India, at the bidder’s own cost and responsibility. Battery Energy Storage System facilities may be co-located with renewable generation, while pumped storage facilities may be located separately or alongside the generation assets.
