NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a tender inviting bids for the supply of solar modules for its 1,200 MW solar projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park South Block in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. Bids will be accepted until 28 August 2025.
The scope of work includes the manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, and transportation of crystalline bifacial solar PV modules with a minimum nominal rating of 570 Wp. These modules must fall under the “open category” and be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I.
The selected developer will be required to supply 1,560 MWp (4x390 MW) of bifacial modules, along with an additional 1 per cent as spares. NTPC REL stated that the project would be financed through a combination of internal resources and external borrowings.
Financial criteria under the tender require bidders to have had an average annual turnover of no less than Rs 2.47 million per MWp of quoted capacity over the three financial years preceding the techno-commercial bid opening.
Earlier this year, Vikram Solar won a 326.6 MW module supply order from Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd (GIPCL) for India’s largest renewable project at Khavda. Separately, Kosol Energie secured a 400 MW photovoltaic module order through Zetwerk, as part of a larger 1,515 MWp requirement for NTPC’s Khavda Solar Project. That order included 550W bifacial modules designed for tracker-mounted systems to improve power generation efficiency, manufactured under Kosol Energie’s Category-1 certification.
