NTPC Green Energy Limited (NTPC Green Energy) has declared the commercial operation of a 91.6 megawatt (MW) addition to the Ayana Kadapa solar project in Andhra Pradesh. The new capacity has been synchronised with the regional grid and will begin supplying clean energy under the company operational regime. The commissioning process complied with statutory requirements and technical protocols for commercial operation and applicable safety standards.

Commissioning followed a sequence of testing and validation that concluded with grid integration and performance verification. The facility is sited in Kadapa district and forms part of the wider Ayana Kadapa development that aims to expand renewable capacity in the region. The addition is expected to support grid stability and to displace fossil fuel generation while integrating into existing transmission infrastructure. Project execution involved coordination with state grid operators to ensure timely evacuation of generated power and regulatory clearances as required.

The expansion aligns with national and corporate renewable targets and with efforts to strengthen energy security. The project advancement reflects a continuing programme of capacity addition by the company and contributes to a diversified generation mix. The incremental output will assist in meeting peak demand and reduce the carbon intensity of the power supplied to the regional market.
