NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned a 125 megawatt (MW) solar capacity at the Bhadla Solar PV Project in Phalodi, Rajasthan, advancing the company’s renewable portfolio. The capacity forms part of the larger 500 MW Bhadla project being implemented by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited. Certification from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited confirmed that the unit met technical and regulatory conditions required for commercial operation.\n\nThe company has treated the commercial operation date as effective from 00:00 hours on 31 January 2026 and communicated the update to stock exchanges in early February. The disclosure was filed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and was signed by the company secretary and compliance officer. The backdated operational date reflects the official recognition of grid integration and readiness from that point.\n\nPrior to this commissioning the group’s total commercial renewable capacity stood at 8,688.25 MW and the addition has increased it to 8,813.25 MW. The incremental capacity thus added underscores steady progress in scaling clean energy assets. The Bhadla region remains central to the company’s strategy owing to high solar potential and existing infrastructure that supports large scale deployment.\n\nThe commissioning reinforces NTPC Green Energy Limited’s focus on expanding renewable generation across India and complements earlier phases at Bhadla. Further capacity plans at the site were noted as part of an ongoing development programme and the latest operationalisation contributes to national objectives for renewable expansion. Industry observers have said the project exemplifies how established utility developers continue to deliver grid integrated solar capacity. Analysts anticipate further commissioning at the site in due course.
