NTPC Green Energy Commissions 68.22 MW Solar Capacity in Gujarat

NTPC Green Energy has commissioned 68.22 MW of solar power capacity at its Dahod Solar PV Project in Gujarat, expanding the company’s renewable energy portfolio. The capacity was developed through its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy.

The newly commissioned capacity became commercially operational on July 23, 2026. It forms the third part of a larger 200 MW solar power project being developed in the Dahod region. The Gujarat Energy Development Agency formally certified the commercial readiness of the capacity on September 17, 2026.

Following the commissioning, the NTPC Green Energy Group’s commercial generation capacity increased from 10,842.86 MW to 10,911.08 MW. The addition also raised the group’s overall installed generation base and strengthened its renewable energy portfolio.

The Dahod project supports NTPC Green Energy’s efforts to expand solar power generation in Gujarat and increase its presence in India’s renewable energy sector. The project is part of the group’s wider clean energy development strategy, which includes adding utility-scale renewable capacity across different regions of the country.

Solar projects remain an important component of the group’s clean energy portfolio. The commissioning of the latest capacity marks another step in the expansion of NTPC Green Energy’s renewable assets and contributes to efforts to increase lower-carbon electricity generation in India. The remaining sections of the Dahod project are expected to add to the overall capacity once they achieve commercial operation.
