NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has invited bids for an engineering, procurement and construction package for a 250 MW ground-mounted solar power project integrated with a 50 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.

The project will be awarded on a turnkey basis, covering the entire lifecycle from design and engineering to testing and commissioning. The scope includes the manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation and commissioning of the solar photovoltaic plant, along with the supply of solar modules.

The selected contractor will also be responsible for the complete design, sizing, supply, installation, integration and commissioning of the battery energy storage system. The BESS must be designed for an operational life of 25 years, based on daily single-cycle use and capacity degradation parameters proposed by the bidder. The batteries are required to be rated for a minimum of 10,000 operating cycles.

Under the tender conditions, the bidder must guarantee at least 92 per cent dispatchable capacity at the point of interconnection over a 15-year period, beginning with 100 per cent of rated dispatchable capacity in the first year.

Separately, NTPC Green Energy Ltd has issued an EPC tender on behalf of a joint venture with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd for the development of a 6 MW floating solar photovoltaic project coupled with a 6 MW/24 MWh battery energy storage system at the ABVTPS project in Chhattisgarh.

The tenders reflect NTPC’s continued focus on expanding renewable energy capacity while integrating storage solutions to enhance grid stability and support round-the-clock clean power supply.
