NTPC REL Seeks Solar Modules for 1.2 GW Khavda Projects

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids to supply solar modules for its 1,200 MW solar projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.
Bids must be submitted by 28 August 2025 and will be opened on the same day.
Bid Requirements
Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) depending on the block size applied for:
- Rs 100 million (~$1.16 million) for 393.9 MWp (one block)
- Rs 200 million (~$2.29 million) for 787.8 MWp (two blocks)
- Rs 200 million (~$2.29 million) for 1,181.7 MWp (three blocks)
- Rs 200 million (~$2.29 million) for 1,575.6 MWp (all four blocks)
In addition, a document fee of Rs 22,500 (~$262) is payable.
Scope of Work
The scope includes the manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, and transportation of bifacial crystalline silicon modules with a minimum nominal power rating of 570 Wp to the Khavda site.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bidders must have supplied or manufactured at least 200 MW of solar modules or cells within any 12 consecutive months in the past five years, including at least one order of 50 MW or above.
- Only modules listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I will be accepted.
- Group or subsidiary companies may apply through a joint undertaking.
- Applicants must have an annual manufacturing capacity of at least 1.67 times the quoted capacity.
- Financially, bidders must show a minimum average annual turnover equal to quoted capacity (MW) x Rs 2.47 million (~$28,721) over the past three years. Net worth must equal at least the paid-up share capital, either individually or consolidated with holding or subsidiary companies.
Recent Developments
NTPC REL recently invited bids for crystalline bifacial modules for 1,000 MW solar projects in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. In April 2025, it also sought bids for a 2 MW green hydrogen generation system at Sipat, Chhattisgarh, under its green hydrogen mobility project.
