NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has executed a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) on 30 March 2026 for supply of green ammonia under the SIGHT Scheme of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, Government of India. The agreement positions NTPC REL to deliver significant volumes of low carbon ammonia as part of national decarbonisation efforts. The arrangement uses SECI as the intermediary procurer.

Under the agreement NTPC REL will supply 70,000 tonnes per annum (t per annum) of green ammonia to Krishna Phoschem Limited (Krishna Phoschem) for its facility at Meghnagar in Madhya Pradesh, with SECI acting as buyer and mediator. The term tonne is defined as tonne (t) on first mention and the company will reference the t abbreviation in subsequent mentions. The supply quantum reflects a meaningful step in scaling green fuels for industrial use.

NTPC Green Energy Limited through its subsidiary NTPC REL views the execution of the purchase agreement as a significant milestone in its green hydrogen and green ammonia portfolio and as reinforcing its commitment to India's decarbonisation goals. The transaction is expected to support development of supply chains and to stimulate investment in renewable power and in electrolyser capacity that underpin green ammonia production.
