Oswal Pumps has secured an order worth Rs 4.42 billion from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 14,787 solar water pumping systems across the state.
The order, awarded under the PM-KUSUM B Scheme/Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, includes off-grid direct current pumping systems at identified farmers’ sites. The letter of award is valid for one year, with installations to be completed within 60 days of the issuance of work orders or necessary approvals.
Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme aims to promote renewable energy in agriculture. The programme includes three components—Component A for 10,000 MW of small solar power plants, Component B for 14 lakh standalone solar-powered agriculture pumps, and Component C for 35 lakh grid-connected solarised agriculture pumps. Initially targeted for completion by 2022, the scheme has been extended until March 2026 due to pandemic-related delays.
