Pace Digitek has received a Letter of Acceptance from NTPC Limited for an engineering, procurement and construction package to implement a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Station. The project is valued at Rs 4,945.4 mn excluding GST and will be executed within 15 months, with comprehensive annual maintenance for 11 years and ongoing responsibilities for the design life of the system.

The company will undertake comprehensive annual maintenance and a wide range of logistics and site services, including loading and transportation from manufacturers and suppliers, inland transit insurance, delivery, receipt, unloading, handling, storage, preservation and in-plant transportation. The award forms part of an NTPC tender in which five companies were selected to develop BESS projects across seven thermal power plants, with earlier contracts including a 480 MWh system at the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station. SolarWorld received a Letter of Award for a 132 MW/264 MWh BESS at the Solapur Super Thermal Power Station with an estimated value of Rs 3,142.6 mn excluding taxes and a completion timeline of 15 months. Enviro Infra Engineers secured contracts worth Rs 6,643.3 mn for a 480 MWh and a 100 MWh project, and GR Infraprojects was awarded a 400 MWh project at Mouda.

The order constitutes a notable addition to the company’s portfolio in the fast growing energy storage sector and is expected to support enhanced flexibility and grid stability at thermal sites. Pace Digitek will proceed to implement the project under the terms of the Letter of Acceptance and to deliver long term operational support as specified.
