PM Modi to inaugurate Renewable Energy Meet

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, had announced that India would host the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) from September 16 to 18 at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event, aimed at showcasing India's achievements in the renewable energy sector, was to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the media in Gandhinagar, Joshi had mentioned that the conference was expected to attract over 10,000 delegates and would include 44 sessions, featuring a Chief Ministerial Plenary and a CEO Roundtable. He had stated that India was on track to achieve its target of 500 GW of non-fossil power capacity by 2030, and the event would highlight the country's significant progress in the renewable energy sector.

Joshi had also informed that RE-INVEST 2024 would involve partner countries such as Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway, with Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan serving as Partner States. Additionally, the event would see commitments from state governments and financial institutions regarding their renewable energy targets.

Delegations from several countries, including the USA, UK, UAE, and the European Union, were expected to participate, with discussions covering areas like Green Hydrogen, innovative financing, and renewable energy manufacturing. The conference would also feature special sessions on “Women as Leaders in Accelerating Energy Transition” and a Solar X Challenge for start-ups.
