Power Mech Projects Secures EPC Order from BHEL
The project, awarded to BHEL by Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL) on a complete EPC basis, will be executed by PMPL within 38 months. The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, and construction of coal and biomass handling systems, ash handling systems, utilities, an induced draft cooling tower, water and wastewater treatment plants, fire protection systems, and associated civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation works.
Mr Sajja Kishore Babu, Chairman and Managing Director, said, “This project will further strengthen our robust order book and reinforce the company’s core EPC capabilities in line with our strategic growth vision. It also supports India’s mission to enhance power generation capacity and energy security through reliable base-load thermal power.”
He added that while India continues its renewable transition, thermal power remains critical for grid stability and round-the-clock electricity supply. The government’s roadmap includes high-efficiency thermal units using cleaner combustion and renewable co-firing technologies such as biomass.
PMPL stated that the new contract further reinforces its global expertise in executing complex power and infrastructure projects with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
