Power Mech Projects Wins Rs. 3.27 bn Vedanta Order

Power Mech Projects has secured an order valued at Rs. 3.27 bn, excluding goods and services tax (GST), from Vedanta Aluminium Metal for operations and maintenance (O&M) services. The contract will run for 48 months, according to details announced by the company on Monday.

The scope covers end-to-end operation and maintenance of a 130 MW power plant. The facility consists of two 50 MW units and one 30 MW unit, giving the plant its total installed capacity.

The contract also includes operation and maintenance of the Balance of Plant (BOP) for a separate 90 MW coal-fired co-generation power plant. BOP services generally cover supporting systems and infrastructure required for the plant’s operation, in addition to the principal generating equipment.

The services will be delivered at Vedanta’s facility in Kalahandi, Lanjigarh, Odisha. The order was awarded by a domestic entity, and Power Mech Projects classified its nature as an operations and maintenance contract.

The agreement provides a multi-year services mandate for the company across two power-generation facilities at the site. The contract value excludes GST, while the stated duration establishes the period during which Power Mech Projects will be responsible for the specified operational and maintenance activities.

The order adds to Power Mech Projects’ portfolio of power-sector services, which includes operating and maintaining generation assets and related plant infrastructure. The company’s announcement did not provide further details on the expected revenue schedule, staffing requirements or profitability associated with the contract.
