Power Ministry Steps Up Special Campaign 5.0 Efforts
On 14 October 2025, the Secretary (Power) chaired a review meeting with senior officials of the Ministry, CMDs and Directors of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), and heads of attached, subordinate, and autonomous bodies.
The review focused on setting higher goals for cleanliness, streamlining record management, and ensuring timely disposal of pending matters. Activities undertaken across all departments are aligned with the campaign’s Implementation Phase, which runs from 2 October to 31 October 2025.
The Secretary urged all participating entities to make every effort to meet the targets established during the Preparatory Phase, underscoring the campaign’s importance in achieving administrative efficiency and transparency.
The ongoing phase targets the clearance of pending items such as MPs’ references, PMO and inter-ministerial communications, public grievances, and Parliamentary assurances. Each participating office submits regular progress reports to ensure close monitoring and accountability.
So far, during the Implementation Phase, the Ministry has reported:
310 cleanliness drives conducted,
10,249 files weeded or closed,
56,381 sq. ft. of office space freed,
22 MPs’ references and 301 public grievances resolved,
16 rules and processes simplified, and
Rs 136 million generated from scrap disposal.
Building on the success of previous editions, the Ministry aims to make Special Campaign 5.0 even more impactful by setting new standards in administrative efficiency, digitalisation, and sustainability. The campaign seeks to surpass the achievements of Special Campaign 4.0 through enhanced e-waste disposal, process simplification, and a stronger culture of cleanliness across the power sector ecosystem.
The Ministry of Power reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the vision of a clean, efficient, and responsive governance framework, supporting the broader goal of a sustainable and accountable government machinery.
