Premier Energies Opens Five Point Six GW Solar Plant In Telangana

Premier Energies has commissioned a five point six gigawatt (GW) solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana, with trial production already under way. The plant, spread across 75 acres, is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs and to support the local economy while strengthening India’s clean energy manufacturing ecosystem.

With this addition the company’s total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, reinforcing its position among India’s largest solar manufacturers. The newly commissioned plant incorporates advanced automation and high efficiency production lines capable of manufacturing four G12R TOPCon modules every 16 seconds and is engineered to ensure consistent throughput and improved operational reliability.

The manufacturing lines integrate artificial intelligence powered fault detection systems to identify and rectify defects in real time, ensuring consistent quality and enhanced performance. The use of TOPCon technology combined with Zero Busbar architecture is designed to deliver higher energy yield, reduced optical losses and improved durability for domestic and global markets.

The managing director described the commissioning as a significant milestone in the move towards a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem, and the chief strategy officer said the plant aligned with India’s renewable energy ambitions and efforts to enhance supply chain resilience. Premier Energies is a publicly listed company undertaking a Rs 125 billion (bn) capital expenditure programme over three years to more than double capacity, expand backward integration into ingots and wafers and diversify into inverters, transformers and battery systems. The company has a 30-year track record and has been recognised for technology innovation, sustainability and an employee centric culture, earning Great Place to Work certification for five consecutive years. In recent results consolidated net profit rose by 53.44 per cent year on year to Rs 3.92 bn and revenue from operations increased 13.02 per cent to Rs 19.36 bn for the quarter ended 31 December 2025, while the scrip shed zero point six five per cent to Rs 888 on the BSE.
