REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, recently handed over Ranipur Chunar Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to H G Infra Engineering Limited.

H G Infra Engineering emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the Bid Process Coordinator. The intra-state transmission project, titled ‘Construction of 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation, Ranipur (Mau) and 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation, Chunar (Mirzapur)’, will be developed in Uttar Pradesh on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Rajesh Raj, Senior General Manager and HoD, RECPDCL, to Ujjval Verma, CGM (Finance), H G Infra Engineering, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, H G Infra Engineering and Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited.

The project includes the establishment of 220/132/33 kV AIS substations at Ranipur in Mau and Chunar in Mirzapur. It also envisages a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line from Rasra to Ranipur, along with associated works.

The project is scheduled for implementation within 18 months.
