Reliance Power Limited’s wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies Private Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from SJVN Limited, a Navratna enterprise, for the largest allocation in the 1,500 MW / 6,000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) ISTS tender. The company secured 750 MW / 3,000 MWh capacity—representing 50 per cent of the total allocation—through a competitive online bidding process.
This landmark achievement positions the Reliance Group as India’s largest player in the Solar plus Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment, with a cumulative portfolio exceeding 4 GWp of solar and 6.5 GWh of BESS across four tenders won in less than a year.
The awarded project will feature 900 MWp of solar generation integrated with over 3,000 MWh of battery storage, enabling round-the-clock renewable power supply to DISCOMs. Reliance NU Energies secured the capacity at a competitive tariff of Rs 6.74 per kWh, setting a new benchmark for the country’s renewable energy market.
The SJVN FDRE tender is a pioneering step in India’s energy transition, designed to deliver firm, dispatchable renewable power through hybrid and storage-based systems. The project marks a significant milestone in Reliance Power’s clean energy strategy and reaffirms its commitment to supporting India’s decarbonisation and sustainable growth goals.
