ReNew Commits Rs 220 billion to Andhra Hybrid Project

ReNew Energy Global has announced a Rs 220 billion investment to establish a 2.8 GW hybrid renewable energy project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The project will comprise 1.8 GW of solar, 1 GW of wind, and a 2 GWh battery energy storage system, enabling power supply during peak demand hours. The first phase includes 587 MW of solar, 250 MW of wind, and 415 MWh of storage, with power purchase agreements already in place. The initiative aligns with India's goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and is expected to create approximately 1,500 jobs.
