ReNew unveils India’s biggest solar plant in Rajasthan
Spread over 3,500 acres across villages in the Pokran and Bhaniyana tehsils, the project will generate 2,490 million units annually—enough to power over 500,000 homes. It’s expected to offset 2.3 million tonnes of CO? every year.
Marking a first for a solar plant of this scale in India, ReNew used 100 per cent in-house solar panels, with 90 per cent made in Rajasthan at its Jaipur facility. Power from the plant will be supplied to consumers in the state at Rs 2.18/kWh.
ReNew has invested over Rs 210 billion in Rajasthan, with 5 GW of operational capacity and a 4 GW solar module plant in Jaipur. The company’s total clean energy portfolio stands at 17.4 GW.
