India’s imports of Russian crude oil reached a record for the second consecutive month in July 2026, rising 2.1 per cent in volume from June. Imports touched about 2.8 million barrels per day, representing roughly 55.5 per cent of India’s total crude imports of just over five million barrels per day. Russian crude purchases were valued at €5.5 billion during July. Higher shipments through smaller terminals offset declines at major ports including Paradip, reinforcing Russia’s position as India’s largest supplier.
