Saatvik to invest Rs 31.5 billion in solar cell unit in Odisha

Saatvik Green Energy plans to invest Rs 31.5 billion to establish a solar module and cell manufacturing facility in Odisha. The project is part of the company’s strategy to expand its renewable energy manufacturing footprint and strengthen India’s solar supply chain.

The new facility will be set up in Khurda district over 60 acres, with an initial annual capacity of 2 GW for solar modules and 2 GW for solar cells. Construction is expected to begin soon, and operations will commence in phases.

Saatvik’s Managing Director, Prashant Mathur, said the Odisha project will generate over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the state’s renewable energy ambitions. The plant will cater to both domestic and export markets, supporting the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

With this investment, Saatvik Green Energy aims to position itself among India’s leading integrated solar manufacturers, complementing its existing facilities in Haryana and Gujarat.
